Siberian irises

I was given Siberian Irises from 2 different friends a few years ago. At the time, I had no idea what they were. I do like irises but they don’t bloom long enough so I didn’t get excited about them until the first time they bloomed! I was surprised by their graceful beauty.

The guests staying in our gite in Brittany, always ask me what type of irises they are, as they are not commonly known. They (the flowers, not the guests!) don’t need much maintenance. I only cut the stems when they have finished blooming. I love low maintenance beautiful flowers!

I took this photo about 2 weeks ago when the first clump was in full bloom. The second clump has a different shade of purple and bloom 3 weeks later!
