How do you take your steak?

Guests staying in our gite in Brittany often ask me how to ask for a steak ‘well done’ or ‘very rare’.

In a French restaurant, the waiter will ask you how you want the ‘cuisson’ of your steak.

Bleu is very rare

Saignant is rare

à point is 'on the turn'

and bien cuit is well done
