The first eco-friendly stamp!

Since 1st October 2011, La Poste (the French post office) is selling green stamps (timbres verts). Instead of taking 1 day, the letter will take 2 days to reach its destination. It can only be used within France.

This green stamp is more eco-friendly as it will travel by train rather than plane.

It is €0.57 instead of €0.60 (normal post). I have recently started to use the new stamps for sending letters.

I will be saving some money (not a lot!) and the planet at the same time!

The price of French stamps is increasing!

As from 1st July 2011, the prices of stamps in France are increasing.

It will be €0.60 for France (increase of 2 cents) and €0.77 for Europe (it is currently €0.75).
If the stamps you have at home don't show any prices on them, you can still use them. If they do have a price on them, you can get some 1 cent stamps.

For more information regarding the services offered by La Poste see this link here.
