The ‘Compagnie Corsaire’ offers a wide choice of boat trips from St Malo, St Cast, Dinard and Dinan.

From Dinan port, it will take you to St Malo in 2 hours 45 minutes. It is one way but they can organize a coach for the way back!

Boat trips on the river Rance from Port Lyvet

Le Maltess, new this year! – will take you on a boat trip on the river Rance to Dinan port and back. The journey takes about 1 ½ hours.

In July and August, Friday, Saturday and Sunday departure at 3.30pm.

Port Lyvet is part of St-Samson-sur-Rance (North of Dinan), also signposted for La Hisse. It is a quaint spot. About 15 minutes from our gite.

Boat trips from Dinan port

From Dinan port the beautiful Jaman IV offers boat trips on the river Rance all the way to Léhon and back where you will see St Magloire Abbey and the ruins. You will go through a lock and find out the duties of a lock-keeper. This guided tour will take about 1 hour.

As the seats are in a covered area, you can enjoy a tour on a hot or rainy day!

Jaman IV in Evran!

As a special treat the Jaman IV came to Evran for one day only beginning of August. It was nice to see this beautiful old boat in our village. It attracted a lot of visitors who went onboard for a short trip.

If you missed it, you can find it at Dinan port! Enjoy a round trips to Léhon and back to Dinan port.

A boat trip on the river Rance is a great way to admire panoramic views and the rare beauty of the Rance’s natural landscape.

Boat trips depart from Dinan port and/or from the “Barrage de la Rance” between St Malo and Dinard.

The beautiful Island of Bréhat

One great day out I can recommend… the Island of Bréhat (Ile de Bréhat).

From our gite in Brittany, it will take you about 1 hour and 20 minutes to drive to Paimpol. From there it will be signposted for Ile de Bréhat.

The boat crossings with the ‘Vedettes de Bréhat’ are every half hour and only take 10 minutes.

The island is famous for its pink granite, birds and beautiful flowers.

It will take you about 1 hour to walk round it unless if you stop at a café! On the way, you will see a chapel, water mill, light house, semaphore and stunning stone houses made of local pink granite.

The island has cafés, restaurants and shops.

On the way back, you could visit Paimpol and the coast up to St Brieuc. You will discover lovely sea side resorts.
