Bretzels and German bread in France

If, like me, you like German bread and bretzels, you can now find some at Lidls in France. Not all Lidls in France sell fresh bread but the ones in Dinan do (the Taden and Léhon branches).

“Laugenbrötchen” are called ‘pain Maurice’.

They taste just like the ones in Germany!Just spread a bit of Breton salted butter on them..........

Yesterday I tested the Shiatsu massage given by Doriane who has just moved to my village in Evran, Brittany, France. I can recommend it! I was left very relaxed.

Here is some information about the 2 types of massage she offers:

A Californian massage:

Very relaxing and soothing massage, inspired from Asian techniques, particularly Indian using soft and enveloping effleurage movements, applying oil to the whole body, allowing a deep physical and psychical relaxation. It aims at harmonising the body and mind. 

Shiatsu:

Based on the theoretical framework of traditional Chinese medicine, Shiatsu has been official in Japan for over a century. Its techniques include kneading, pressure with thumbs and palms, over acupoints, body stretching and mobilisation.

Shiatsu is calming and relaxing, yet dynamic in effect; the body begins to re-adjust itself and healing takes place. It stimulates the body’s vital energy.

Shiatsu can offer support to your body if you are suffering from stress, sleeping or digestive problems, allergies, phobias, addictions, emotional troubles, chemotherapy etc.

Comedy play in Evran

I am organising a play on Saturday 23^rd April 2016 à 8.30pm at the Salle Jean de Beaumanoir in Evran.

The comedians are coming all the way from Paris for one night only! 

I personally saw the play on Boxing Day near Lyon and enjoyed it very much.

Although the comedy is in French, it is very visual so even with basic French you should follow easily.

It is the story of a barking family. The father thinks he is the reincarnation of Elvis Presley, the son Michael Jackson. The mother drinks whatever she finds!

They decide to enter a lookalike competition in Las Vegas but they can’t afford the price of the plane ticket. They will do anything to raise the money....... they would even steal from their own family.

I promise you an evening of laughter! :o)

The money raised will go to ‘The Evraneurs’, an association in Evran to buy music equipment (amplifiers, microphone etc). They have been playing and entertaining people in and around Evran for 18 months for free. They deserve a bit of financial help!

Tariff : 10 euros / 12 euros on the night if any tickets left.

Magic festival in Rennes

If you don’t know what to do this weekend in Brittany, I recommend Rennes Magic Festival. 5 different artists all showing different tricks, illusions, etc.

Most of it is visual so don’t worry if you can’t speak French, you will still understand.

If you miss Rennes Magic festival, you will find it in Lyon, Bordeaux, Angers, Briec and Carquefou. 

I booked my tickets in October 2015 to get the best seats, but there are still a few seats left.
