Magic festival in Rennes

If you don’t know what to do this weekend in Brittany, I recommend Rennes Magic Festival. 5 different artists all showing different tricks, illusions, etc.

Most of it is visual so don’t worry if you can’t speak French, you will still understand.

If you miss Rennes Magic festival, you will find it in Lyon, Bordeaux, Angers, Briec and Carquefou. 

I booked my tickets in October 2015 to get the best seats, but there are still a few seats left.

Christmas market in Rennes

Rennes Christmas market is on until 24th December 2015, Place du Parlement de Bretagne. It is on everyday from 10am to 8pm.

Rennes is in Brittany.

Belasie – Asian supermarket in Rennes

If you are looking for Chinese or Indian food (spices, fresh vegetables, fruit, tins, jars, frozen fish and seafood, Chinese dishes and cutlery, etc) you will find everything you need (and more!) at Belasie in Rennes.

They also have a ‘deli’ so you can take home some ready meals. In the frozen section, fish, seas food, samosas, etc. I have recently bought some frozen curry leaves and lemon grass.

This supermarket is open to anyone not just to restaurants. You will find big bags of spices or rice (ie 25kg bags!!) but they also sell ‘normal’ size bags!

It is open Monday to Saturday from 9 am to 7pm.

Rennes is in Brittany, about 30 min from our gite in Evran.

Summer Sales 2010 in France

In France, sales are regulated. Shops are not allowed to have sales whenever they want. French shops have winter sales in January and winter sales in July.

I have just looked at the official web site of the French administration and the next sales start on Wednesday 30^th June. Sales in France only last 5 weeks so it is best to shop as soon as they start to get what you want!

I will be going to Rennes (Brittany, France) with a couple of friends to get a few items of clothing!
